Firestopping

It takes more than “active” fire prevention (smoke detectors, sprinklers) to protect your property in the event of a fire. At JJM we distribute “passive” firestopping materials that are essential components of code compliant construction. Passive fire prevention materials are designed to keep smoke, fire, and water isolated at the source of the fire, and to remain effective even when active measures fail.
Firestopping caulks and sealants

Caulk

Ensure gap-free protection with our fire-stopping caulk. Crafted for excellent adhesion and fire-resistance, this caulk provides a formidable barrier, sealing off potential pathways for flames and smoke.

SpecSeal® Series SSS Intumescent Firestop Sealant

STI – two-stage intumescent, latex based, firestop compound that expands rapidly to seal off the path of smoke and other hot gasses ahead of a fire. Over 200 UL classified uses, including use for metallic pipes and nonmetallic pipes, HVAC ductwork, insulated pipes, cable, and cable trays. Characteristics: Two-Stage expansion – Stage 1: 230°F (110°C), Stage 2: 350°F (177°C).

SpecSeal® ES Elastomeric Sealant

STI – engineered to stick to almost any surface, and highly elastomeric caulk that provides passive smoke and fire protection in construction joints. UL classified uses include floor-to-floor, floor-to-wall, wall-to-floor, wall-to-wall, head-of-wall, and other common joint applications. Characteristics: Acoustically tested, noise reducing, latex based, auto bonding, water-resistant, and non-halogenated

SIL 300 Silicone Sealant

STI – neutral curing silicone sealant used on walls and floors to control the spread of fire, smoke, toxic gases, and water in the event of a fire. Seal penetrations that involve non-combustible materials such as cables, expansion joints, and other construction gaps. Characteristics: Adhesive, auto bonding, water & chemical resistant sealant that reacts to atmospheric moisture to form a durable seal.
